Ibiza (Eivissa in catalan) is an island located in the mediterranean sea and forms part of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands, Spain.With an area of 360 square miles and a population of 113.908 inhabitants (INE 2006).

The capital is Ibiza and the two most important towns as well as the capital, are San Antonio de Portmany and Santa Eulalia del rio.

The island of Ibiza, together with the island of Formentera, are known as the Pitiusas islands. With a 110 mile long coast, most of it formed by coves and rock formations and more than 60 beaches “a la carte”. The only river in the Balearics is found in Santa Eulalia del Rio, although at the moment it runs dry due to the lack of natural water in the island.
